Run missionaries run!!‏

October 27, 2014
HOLA A TODOS!!

Well I know that it has been a while since i wrote! But it's just like the title says we have been running, running, running! Things have been going great here in good ole' Chalco ;) we have been super busy at work! I kind of forgot how hard it is to open up an area but its been so much fun! Things are going great with my companion. We also have a possible baptism! Then a few weeks ago I got the chance to go to Polanco, the nicest part of the city, to resign my visa for the last time! It was a lot of fun and other than that things are just busy, busy, busy!!

So with the running, running, running. This last week we decided that we have not been finding a ton of new people so we looked at the list of people that we have contacted in the street the last few weeks and we realized that we had a list of about 30 different people. We decided we needed to look for these people to see if they really wanted anything. It was kind of sad because we walked all day for two days and whittled the list down from 30 possible investigators to only about five that accepted to really listen. It was kind of sad but now we know where the possibilities are at and we know who to work with! So we are ready to hit the ground running and that will be exciting!

We possibly have a baptism this week! The guy had an accident a few weeks ago and shared his experience like this:  He works making big ice blocks and a machine fell and crushed his foot! he told us where the machine was he should have been completely crushed but he wasn't! He said that a warm smooth feeling took hold of him and moved him out of the way and so the machine only crushed his foot, which is still bad.... but then he told us that his foot was completely under the machine and that same feeling came back and took his foot out! We were like wow that's crazy! He is convinced it was our Father in Heaven (which it was) and he is ready to put a bag over his foot and jump in the font! So we will be baptizing him with the bag over his foot this week probably! it was so cool to hear his experience and he is super ready! His wife and kids are members he is the only one that is not a member and now is ready to jump in the font!!

Polanco was cool! we got to go to a store that sells complete american food! iI was so cool! I got some Twizzlers and Gierideli chocolate! it was so much fun!

I do have to say that its crazy how we get caught up in our many activities each week and each day! This last week my companion and I were talking and we were like wow where is the time! October literally is almost gone! this is the last week of October and then we are in November again, and before we know it, it will be Christmas again!  And then the new year! Something that i have learned out here is to enjoy the time because when we hit the real world again it will be a dumbed down version of the mission! We will be always be running, running, running. That is why it is super important to remember the savior in our lives! When we do the small things like daily prayer, scripture study,  and weekly family home evening to the bigger stuff like weekly church attendance and monthly temple visits we will be richly blessed!

The Lord himself promised I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise. D&C 82:10 As we do what he says he will help us i can testify to that because like he said "i am bound"

I love you all and hope that you all have a good week this next week! Untill next week with all of the excitement may God bless each and every one of you!

Love,
Elder Darcy--

14 months!!!! What!!! Where is the time!!‏

October 6, 2014

HEYO!!!!!

So ya 14 months I can't believe that we are already at that point! Before we know it it will be 18 months!! It's super crazy!! but all is well! this last week we had transfers and that was good. I am in a new area called Culturas! It's nice because we are right off to the side of the center of Chalco! It takes like 10 min to walk their from our house! Let's not forget that conference was this week! It was super great!  Other than that all has been super calm!

Transfers were great I am now in Chalco! I am in the ward Culturas! My companion is an elder from my generation his name is Elder Thomson! He is a missionary from Honolulu Hawii. Iit has been a great week with him! We both are new to the area and for that the work is slow but all is well here!! We are slowly but surly meeting people. The highlight of this week is that we got to the house after the transfer meeting! The house was a MESS! it was a joke the worst part was cleaning the fridge that had a month and a half of cheese and hamburger patties left in it and the fridge had been unplugged the day the last missionaries left! so lets just say that the fridge did not smell the best when we opened it! The next day I got the great privilege  to clean it! It was so much fun!! no not really I came close to throwing-up a few times because of the smell! but at the end of 1 1/2 to 2 hours of cleaning the fridge smelt like a fresh rained on field (does that make sense? :S)! All is going well here in the new area!!

So how about that conference!! That was so cool! I was a little thrown off at first because the last few weeks we have been listening to the last conference talks over and over again that i was used to that and i was like where is that! but it was great! I feel that this conference was focused on the fact that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God! It's part I feel that was given because there are a ton of people here that do not have a solid testimony that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the restoration and some don't think that he is all that important!!! It was good for all of us to remember the importance of the divinity of Joseph Smith! I loved the talks from Sunday that were about personal revelation and how and what we can do to receive it! I loved that talk from the Sunday afternoon session where the guy talked about the four tools 1- prayer 2- scripture study 3- family home evening and 4- regular temple attendance! I believe that as we do all four of these things we will receive our revelation and how we can be "spiritually tracked" for our "personal load" it truly was a great conference! on top of that I really loved how the members of the 70 got to share their talks in their native language! it was great! when the two members gave their talks in Spanish we flipped to the Spanish channel and listened in Spanish! it was so cool!

Well love you guys hope you all have a good week and that all goes well! may god bless you all!!

until next time,

Elder Darcy

A Birthday I will never forget!!!

September 16, 2014

HOLA MIS AMIGOS!!!

To start off, yesterday I turned 20! It was really weird I woke up and I was like whoa I am 20 now and if felt super weird!! This last week has been one of the most eventful and stressfull of my mission! To give quick overview this last week our district leader had to go home. That ended up with me in a trio now!! Yesterday( the day of my birthday) my companion Elder Aguilar ended up in the hospital for a mini heart attack! so it was a super crazy week!!
Yesterday was Independence Day here in Mexico and because of that our day was cut short and we had to be in the house by 5:00 PM. That morning we had our meeting then we were helping an hermana pass out a famous tradicinal soup called pazolle! As we were doing this Elder Aguliar told me that he didn't feel good! We went to the house to get him some medicine and when we got home he went to the bathroom and he started to vomit!! THEN as he came out of the bathroom he acted like a drunk he staggered out of the bathroom and as he was entering the bedroom  he grabbed his stomach and fell into the door then to the floor and passed out!! The other Elder (my new companion) Elder Ortiz and I were like ummm uh oh what do we do!!!! We looked for the phone to call the doctors and then we found the phone and we didnt have the number!  We did have another doctor so Elder Ortiz called her and I had to call President and as he answered the phone he was like Elder Darcy happy birthday. I was like haha not really we have a problem Elder Aguilar just passed out which hospital do we go to? He helped us and we got Elder Aguilar to come to a little and then we gave him a blessing then we had to go to a hospital in Chalco! So it was super intersing! We did not get ther untill about 11:30 in the morning and we didn't leave untill 5:30 in the afternoon! It was super crazy! We did not get back here to the area untill 8. Because it takes forever with the traffic! It was a mini heartattack that happened because of high altitued and bad management of his feelings... he was stressed... but all is well!
Thanks again to all for your love and wishes!
Love elder Darcy

Spiritual Experiences!

August 25, 2014

QUE PASO?!
Hey all, how is it going! I have to say that all is going well here! This last few weeks have been pretty good just super busy! A few weeks ago we had another baptism! and it was so cool! Since then we had changes! So everything was only a little crazy because we didn't have changes ( so that means that I am still in Buenavista!) but that is okay because I love this ward! And I love my area! then this last week I had some spiritual experiences that were super cool! It has been a good week!
A few weeks back we had a baptism. The lady who got baptized has been taught for more than two years and she finally agreed to be baptized! The experience was actually pretty cool. We went to visit her about a month ago and we taught the subject of baptism and at the end we asked her how she felt, and she told us that she feels ready. But I had known that she had been living with her boyfriend so I asked her what was happening there because that is a requirement for baptism. When I asked she was like don't worry I will be visiting him tomorrow and I will tell him he can't live here and we cant have those types of relations if we are not married. I was like WOW! That was so cool! I did get to baptize her! She walked out of her interview and said that she wanted me to do the ordinance, it was so cool!
Then the last few weeks I have seen that when they say that the mission is hard it is not a lie! I had some struggles this last week and as I was studying the scriptures and praying I felt like I got partial answers but I felt like something was missing! Yesterday in priesthood we talked about the things we need to do to make a "Spiritual Load" from Elder Bednars talk in April! and the Spirit just hit me so hard and said there is what you need to do! So i know know what is my spiritual load and I know for a surety that this is Gods church and he answers our prayers!!

I love you all and hope that you all have a good week! que dios les bendiga!

Week 53: Just another normal week!

August 11, 2014

jaja! I am learning new phrases now :D It was an awesome week! I had a lot happen in this week ! for one I made a year here in the mission and we had a baptism! It was a pretty good week! But to top it off , my companion got super sick with a stomach infection on Saturday after the baptism, but he is doing better now. Then with more news we have another baptism this week! I am so excited things are going well we are busy at work! it overall was a good week and a fast week I just cannot believe that I have one year in the mission now! it is super crazy! other than that all is going well!

So this week we had a baptism! The Brother had been coming to church for a while and he always told us that he lived in the upper part of the ward! I thought lives in the are of the other two Elders and we kept passing the reference but one day they told us that they could not find the house, so when my companion got here that next Sunday we talked to the guy and we asked him for his address and it turns out that he lives on the boarders of our areas and he fell into our part! he accepted our invitation today!! all of the commitments and all of the lesson  that we shared with him! It was so cool! After my companion got super sick and could not do much because he had a stomach infection! so it was a super crazy day!

Thursday I hit exactly one year in my mission and it was super crazy! then that day we had divisions with our zone leaders and I was with my zone leader Elder Lamont who is from my same generation! so it was fun! then that night we went to his house and we finished the divisions AND we celebrated the one year with the burring of shirts! and yes I have pictures!
1 Year Mark - Burning of a shirt!
Breakfast of Champions! Frosted Flakes with Coke!
other than that it was a good week not a lot happened it was super slow but here are a few more pics!

Week 52: Half Way!!

August 4, 2014

QUE PASO?

Well first off I have been bad at doing an update for the last few weeks,  am sorry about that! Well quite a bit has happened recently! I am training right now and it is so much fun! we are almost at the end of another cycle and this Thursday I HAVE ONE YEAR!! It is so crazy!! I don't know what to think about that. I am going super crazy right now! But one thing is for sure..... I have seen such a huge growth in my testimony in the last year and I was like WOW! So where to start,  where to start!

To start off I am a "dad" which means I am training! I started training when we had changes at the start of this last month! The name of my companion is Elder Aguilar! He is from Tijuana Baja California! He is pretty cool! We have gotten so much work done in these last 4 weeks! As of right now we have an investigator who passed his interview and will be getting baptized this next Saturday! Then we have other dates for next Saturday the 16tha and the end of the month the 30th! We have been getting so much work done that it has been really fun! But I am really enjoying this companion because I feel like with him, more than ever in my mission, I am learning the significance of being a "true disciple of Christ" it is truly amazing! and I am Truly grateful for this chance that the Lord has given me to be a missionary!

Here we are the second to last week of this cycle and as I look back at this cycle and have to say that we truly did our best and I know that there were things that we could have done better but we still have these next two weeks before we start again! I am pretty excited because if you remember back in April one of the baptisms that I had, her name is Sheila, we have recently been working with her mom who has been attending our Church for about two years now........ yeah I know two years! It's crazy!  Because she has the 5 Sundays investigators are required to have we have a date with her to be baptized the 16th of August!

But the time is just flying! I can't believe it! I feel like there were points of these last four months that were just super slow but now I am at a year! I have always heard from other missionaries that the mission in terms of tiempo is a hill! months one to 11 are super slow at times because that is the climb up the hill! Then month 12 is the top and to finish months 13 to 24 is that fast race down! It's super crazy! I can't believe in a year (a little less) it will be over I will be back home and everything that I have done will be set in stone!

I would like to finish with my testimony that I know this work is true. I testify that Jesus is the Christ! and that He lived and died for every one of us and like he states in Joshua "Fear not for I am with thee I will not fail thee nor forsake thee. I will give thee aid." I know that through him the prophet Joseph Smith restored the Church, translated the Book of Mormon and restored every Priesthood key here to the earth! I know that I am here in this part of the Lord's vineyard for a reason! I know that he called me here to do this work! And I will proudly work to the end in "the greatest army on earth." I testify that Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet today!  These things I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

I love you guys and hope that you have a great week! I will be sending pictures in the next week of a few activities that have taking place!
que dios les bendiga!
con muco cariño!

11 Months In and Training!

July 7, 2014

HEYO!
First off I need to send out a HUGE Apology!! I have not sent an update in a few weeks and that is because we have been super busy! Two weeks ago we were playing soccer and working on some stuff as a district so we were not allowed much time! Then last week I went with my companion to el Centro de D.F or the center of Mexico City!  Because of that we did not get back until 6 P.M. We had our district meeting and then I got permission to hurry and email my family! It has been a crazy couple of weeks! This last week was the last of this cycle and with that tomorrow we have the annual changes! Last night we got a call from my district leader and I AM TRAINGING!!!!!!!!!! For the first time in my mission I will be training a new missionary! To top that off today I hit eleven months in my mission! I honestly can`t believe how fast the time is flying! But all is well and let the training begin!
Yesterday night we were supposed to get the changes call at 9 P.M. but they came a little later and because we live four to a house the call came in on my phone! We hovered over my phone with it on speaker phone. The first thing that my district leader said was.... Elder Darcy you and Elder Ragle have changes......Elder Darcy you are staying in Buenavista and will be TRAINING!!! At that point I was so excited that I started to scream YES!! a bunch! Then after I calmed down, I told my district leader sorry and he started to laugh and said that my current companion is headed to the Estado of Mèxico for the first time in his mission! Elder Ragle has changes to Chalco! then the other two Elders that were in our ward are staying the same! So last night after we got the call I had to take a few seconds to reflect and I was truly humbled to know that the Lord has so much trust in me that I can train a new Elder here in the mission! I am so excited for this changes meeting to receive my son!
So on top of all of this good news today I complete eleven months in my mission! This is so crazy that almost one year ago I was walking into the MTC and starting my mission! And now look it is almost half over! I have to say I have learned so much in the last eleven months! I know that everything happening is happening for a reason. I know that they are the things that the Lord wants me to experience! I have truly loved every moment of it and I am more than ready to bust out this last year and do what I need to to bring more people to know their Father In Heaven! I truly testify that he lives, that his son Jesus Christ dies for us, and thanks to his atonement we can live again in peace with him! I am truly proud and humbled to be part of the greatest army on earth! the army of God!
I love you all and hope that you have a good week and that all goes well! I pray that our Father In Heaven will guide you and bless you all wherever you may be!
Love you all!
Love,
Elder Darcy =D
P.S. I will send pics next week of me and my "son!"

Mexicans and Fútbol‏

June 16, 2014

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
HAHA! This week has been super SLOW! OK, I can´t lie,  the first two to three days of the week were probably our best!!!! That is because some tournament called the World Cup started this last Thursday! But this was a really good week with how slow it was! We did get some teaching done in between games the last couple of days! There are a few things that did happen in this last week that were one a little weird and kind of cool at the same time! First off we had a lesson with a family who have friendshiped our three investigators with a baptism date and they have been going above and beyond and have had contact with them almost daily! The second is that it has been weird with soccer being on and I can't see it. The bad part is that it has taken a toll on us because we are trying to teach and people don't want to let us into their houses.... so yeah..

First of with the family that has been friendshiping our investigators are members of a little over 6 months. This last week we thought it would be great to go and visit them and share something with them, and at the end of that visit we were going to tell them the family had a date to be baptised. So we shared and we were getting ready to finish the lesson and we started to talk about the family and we were saying guess what? and they said let me guess they are getting baptized on the 28th! We were like what?! He said ya we talked with them this last week and we have talked with them almost every day! so yah it was super cool!
Then with the World Cup starting the last few days have been a little tough. There were a few times that we went and we tried to teach people and there were a few people we have gotten to their houses and they were like "but elders we are watching the game right now so we can't have a lesson." So this last week has been tough, but good!
I love you all and hope that all goes well I feel that it will be slow for the next little bit but all will go well! tomorrow we have a meting in Chalco so that should be interesting!
Peace until next week!

Hospital trips

June 9, 2014

HEYO!!

Just as the title says, this last week (yesterday) I ended up in the hospital! While we were at church in Sacrament Meeting I started to get a really sharp pain in my right side and it got to the point that I could not sit up straight. We got really nervous thinking it was appendicitis. Another elder a month ago had the same thing. I went to an investigator who is a doctor and he said that it was more than likely a type of appendicitis.

We called the number on the insurance card and found a really great hospital here in D.F called hospital Cami. When we got there they took some information and got me checked in. after doing an exam they said they were not sure what it was and that I would need to stay for further observation and tests. I took a blood and urine test, an x-ray, and an ultrasound. After reviewing all those the doctor said   it was more than likely colitis but they wanted to be sure, so they gave me food and I didn't get nauseated or have a fever so I was discharged at 8:30 after being in observation for 4 hours. I was glad I went and found out that all was well.
All is well with that and I am doing much better! This last week was great we found a lot of work this last week! It was awesome! We were busy all of this week! To report on the family that we said we were hoping to put dates with......... IT happened we are as of right now baptizing on the 28th of this month! I am so excited! Other than that our week was busy helping other members and investigators!
So i am a little worried for this week and the next month with the World Cup starting. We are going to loose a lot of work because EVERYONE will be watching el mundial! But we will bust through it! all I have to say is USA USA USA USA USA!!
Love you all and sorry this was short this week I was short on time.
Love

Week 43: The fruits of our labors

HOLA A TODOS!!!!
As the title says we are starting to see the fruits of our labors! This last cycle my companion Elder Ragle and I were working and we had the hardest time to find new investigators to teach! This last week was a really good week we had a lot of people to teach and we found the secret to success in our area! On top of that I have found the secret to be the best missionary I can be! It was a really rewarding week! Today as we got on the computers to email the President he told us that in this last month we baptized 81 new members as a mission!! that means that 81 souls were brought unto Christ!!! This week we are hoping to put a Fecha with a family that we have had in teaching for a while!
This last week for the first time in a month and a half we were able to find a new family to teach!! We have been working so hard to find the new people here! Last Monday after I had emailed we had a family home evening with an active family and they invited a family of three! so we taught and the accepted another visit! Because of another meeting that we had a few weeks ago we were told that when we have a family accept and put a return appointment that it counts as a new investigator as it says in Preach My Gospel so we taught the family and they at least accepted a return appointment!
It was really cool to have that happen in this week! I have been trying to figure out how can i be obedient but not be a robot. The last few weeks I have been striving to be exactly obedient and that has kind of turned me into a robot and i do not like that so this last week I figured out how and what I need to do to be a obedient missionary......the answer........is to be myself but follow the rules!! It was a great  learning week!
Then this last week we had what is called a simple talk with a family that we have in teaching. They have been coming to church and keeping every commitment but will not accept baptism. Here is where we saw the fruits of our labors again and they opened up to us. They told us that they feel worried about changing a religion because they are scared of the change that will come after being baptized. We were able to go back and help them! then we have another apptointment with them to help them see that they are ready. The last lesson  with them was super spiritual! I have a lot of faith for this family this week!
Well that about does it from Mexico this week! It's crazy this upcoming Saturday i will hit 10 months in my mission its so crazy time is flying but I love it so much! I would not trade it for anything right now! I love the people here, I love the missionaries, I love my Mission President,  and I love the Lord,  that is why I am so engaged in this great work!
I love you all and hope that you all have a good week!
Cuidensen mucho y les amo bastante!
Con amor,
Elder Darcy

Week 42: Phase 6 of 16 compleate!‏

May 26, 2014

QUE PASO,
So we are yet again at the end of another cycle here in the mission Mexico City, Chalco! That means changes right? Well here is the catch..........WE DON´T HAVE CHANGES!!! Elder Ragle and I are not changing!!! So I will be in the area for a whole 4 months and a half! I will also be with Elder Ragle for 3 months by the end of this cycle!! It´s so cool! so this last week was good but slow! Only two major things happened besides changes! This week we did divisions with our zone leaders!! And in this last cycle I have learned a lot. but overall it was a good week! We had a good number of lessons but we are still struggling to find new people.

This last Wednesday we went to another area, we went to the area of Estación. We taught a lot of cool people! We ended up teaching the grandma of one of the members I knew from Taltenco! it was actually really cool! there was one house that we went to and the hermana that we visited has a small little dog named Goofy. This little dog has so much energy, it was so fun to mess with this dog. For lunch we went with another hermana and she has a big dog named Scooby! I am so glad that I had this chance to do divisions! I learned a lot from my zone leader! he is so cool! we had a great time and we helped one another!
So speaking of learning!!! I have learned so much this last cycle! I have learned about obedience, patience, and love for all! Obedience - since I got here I have always had companions super obedient and then we got to this cycle and i was expecting to have someone to help me and I realized it´s all on me now! I had a talk with the President this last week and I promised him and the Lord that I will be exactly obedient! I learned a lot about patience because I didn't do everything right nor did my companion. Finally I leaned love because we have had a lot of people reject us and some Elders do some super crazy things. I have learned the importance of love for all.

So it was a good cycle I look forward to this next! I am so excited to be out here and I just want it to slow down so that I can have more time out here because now I don't have much left out here.... but I will work hard and be more obedient to receive His blessings!
Love you all hope you have a good week!

Week 41: Bautismo!‏

May 19, 2014

Hola mi familia y amigos!
Well it is just like the subject says we have struck again in bringing a soul unto Christ! It was a good long week! by the end of last night I was exhausted and super tired..... yes I know its the same....... ;) but all is well here! We had a lot of adventures in this last week! Some of the stuff that happened is I took a trip down memory lane and I was back in the stake center of Solidaridad! it is because we had a meeting there this last week but it was so weird being there! Then this week was long we did a lot in walking and trying to find where some of our less active members live and trying to teach them! Then we Topped the cycle off with a BAPTISM!! it was a good week! and I will share a little bit about what happened in this week!
So this Wednesday I took a trip down memory lane of my first zone and I went back into Solidaridad! we had a multi zone conference because on the 9th of May Elder Valenzuela from the Area Presidency came and taught all the zone leaders, the assistants , and the presidents about a few things! so on Wednesday we had a Multi Zone conference with Ixtapaluca and solidaridad (the three zones I have been in). It was full of revelation! The one thing that I didn´t like was that they put the importance of numbers. I personally do not like numbers because I feel like they are pushing for numbers and not for the worth of souls. but then president Crickmore used a scripture of how the Lord would count all the hairs on our head....... so ya its important for numbers!
Then the week was long because we are in the process of looking for more members! When I was with my last companion,  Elder Luis, we only taught a certain number of people every week.. so in one of the meetings that we had with our ward mission leader and his assistant we talked about this, well they gave us a list and little by little we are finding people! But we do a lot of walking to find these addresses! We are getting there so that is why there is a pic of me exhausted!
BAUTISMO!!  On Saturday  we baptized a Hermana. we have had in teaching for 5 months. The only thing that was holding her back was getting married! about a week and a half ago she got married and she got baptized this last week! The service was super good and super spiritual because she was so ready for this! There were two other special things about the service on Saturday! the first is that the four Elders in our ward had baptisms (so us and the other two) and that is the first time that we have had that! The second which is the BEST is that my companion Elder Ragle did the baptism and it was the first time that he has done one!!! So it was super cool!
So that's about it for this week! This next week we are baptizing one more to end the cycle and we are again getting the call for transfers! This last week our investigator who baptized the other Hermana had a special interview with the President. After the interview he was talking with me and he sounded pretty sure that I will be training this next cycle! we just have to wait and see if the Lord is ready for that but he told me he feels that I am ready! During that interview Hermana. Crickmore was there to talk with Elder Ragle and I and she told us in the next couple of months we will have cool pictures to send home! It rains like crazy here and it makes for some great pictures! I am excited for that!
I hope all is well and that god may bless you! love you all!

Week 39: 9 Months in....WHAT?‏

May 5, 2014

Well it's like the Subject says this Wednesday I will be completing 9 months in my mission from the day that I went into the MTC!  Before I know it I will be there at a year at the top of the hill looking down on what is to come! It's so crazy but I am absolutely loving being out here right now! it´s amazing how much I have felt the spirit of the Lord in the work here! I have fully come to believe it does not matter leader or no leader, whatever area that I am in I am called there by the Lord through revelation through a member of the 12 Apostles.

But this week was good! we did a lot of work and we had some adventures too!! It was kind of a fast week we hit Saturday and we were like oh no the week is over what are we going to do? so yes it was fast!

So first off with the work one of the cooler things that we had this week is that the hna we have a date with for the 17th of may is getting married! Very cool!  The only thing that was holding her back to get baptized was getting married and she is doing that this Wednesday!!! I'm excited for her because she is truly amazing! The Hermana told us that she has her answer and that she know that it´s true. A few weeks ago she went to the visitors center at the temple and bought her scriptures and a hymn book! She also bought 6-7 movies of the church. when she told us this I was like WOW that's truly amazing because she is not a member yet and she is buying these things.... what???? but she is going to be ready for her baptism on the 17th!

So this week we did take a couple of trips to my old areas!! Elder Ragle had gotten an eye infection in his upper eyelid and so we had to go to Valle de Chalco to see the mission doctor. To get there we had to go straight through Independencia 1, my first area of where I was when I arrived in the mission field. As we had gone through there it was weird to think that I was there in September almost one year ago and that so much time has passed since I left there. As we drove back through to return to our area I thought of the person and the Elder that I was then and who I am now and I can see that I have had quite a change in myself!

The second trip was to Tlaltenco 2 my last area. Elder Ragle had also caught a stomach infection from something, maybe the food we are not use to. All is well, Elder Ragle is doing better,  but Saturday and Sunday were long days. I truly saw the power of the Priesthood yesterday. Before we went to the doctors Elder Ragle had asked for a blessing and to sleep for a little bit because he had not slept at all the night before!  We gave him a blessing and he went to his bed and layed down and was out cold in a matter of seconds and did not move or wake up for several hours after that. It was so amazing to see the Priesthood work like that through the power that we have from our Father In Heaven. I was like wow our Father in Heaven is bien poderoso! so it was a cool experience!!

I love you all and bless that you have a good mothers day week! and oh ya HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!!

Love,

Elder Darcy

Week 38: Who you callin Gueto? ;)‏

April 28, 2014

I have decided to change around the titles of my emails because we just have A LOT to do and the time is flying by! I realized that in about 3 months (almost) I will be at the top of the hill in my mission and then its all running downhill until the day of my last transfers meeting! It is so crazy to think about that! But for now in the little ole area de Buenavista we are working hard with some exciting things happening! This week we are hoping to see another baptism and in the next few on the 17th we are hoping to see two more baptisms!

This week was SOOOOOOOOO much better than this last week because everyone was home from the vacations de Easter! We got some more teaching in this week and we had some crazy experiences! we had one guy tell us he has not had a drink in 15 days and we are having another baptism interview tonight!!!

One of the guys that we are teaching off and on just became a focus this week! His family was baptized in October but he could not be baptized cause he was having a problem with drinking. A few weeks ago when I was with Elder Luis we went with the Bishop and we visited with this brother and the bishop started to talk with him and the Bishop asked "hno. do you want to be baptized" and the hno said "yes I have a desire to be baptized I know its true!" then the Bishop told him "well hno do you know what you need to do to be able to be baptized?" and the Hno. Told us " yes I know what I need to do I have to leave drinking" so we were like exactly! So the bishop told him "Hno. come to the church tomorrow and I want to give you an assignment! Elder Luis and I were like uhhh Bishop, what are you doing he is not a member. But of course we didn't say anything and the next night we saw the hno at the church and after that we did not know what had happened and we didn't visit him after that! This week Elder Ragle and I saw him and we asked how it was going and what was the assignment. He told us the Bishop gave him a blessing 15 days ago and since that day he had not had a drink! So we are setting a date with him this week!

Then the second exciting event this week was that our investigator that we had for last week was not baptized because there was confusion and we thought he had some other things to work on, so we postpone the baptism and come to find out all was fine and there was a miscommunication so all is well with him and he is excited for his interview. Yesterday we went and visited him and we had not said a thing about his interview and then he told us he was having the interview the next night. We are so excited for him!

So it was a good week! We did a lot of work and to top it all off we got approached by someone who was trying to bible bash with us. It was kind of funny cause he was a little tipsy We tried to use the "we have an appointment" trick and he was not going to let us go. We finally got him convinced that we had to go so he was like "give me 70 pesos" and we told him we didn't have 70 pesos that day so he asked for 20 pesos and we told him we were broke and he was like OK give me your phone that you have.... and I said hno you told us that you studied the bible and if you have studied the bible you will know that the 8th commandment is "Thou shalt not rob" you can't take this from us cause if you do God will give you bad luck and he got a little scared and was like OK OK thank  you and kissed my companions hand and we were like uhhhhh OK. Then he said God bless you and he left.

So yah interesting week and well ya love you all so much!

Pasqua, Temblores y Kia Kaha!‏

April 21, 2014

FELIZ DIA DE PASQUA! That is how you say Easter in Mexico and wow was this week was different! All this last week was called Semana Santa! And it was so cool! Each day last week was a representation of different things that happened in the last week of Christ's life! here are the different days:

Monday: Was Christ entered into Jerusalem and began teaching, Tuesday and Wednesday: Christ was teaching and organizing the church in that day, Thursday: Was the Last Super and the atonement, Friday was the trial and crucifixion,  Saturday: Was a day of darkness Sunday: Christ was resurrected and broke the chains of death! In this moment it was possible for all to live again!

So this week was super cool to see how another culture celebrates the life of our Redeemer! This last week was super slow because everyone went on vacation! Not a lot happened till Friday when we baptized a sister,  her name is Hna. Sheila, and she was baptized on Friday afternoon! After the baptism we had to return home because one of the ways people here celebrate was to party and there is a lot of drinking involved. That is not safe for us to be out after dark, especially for two Americans. On Friday night we were in the house all night! The rest of the week was super slow!

Temblors! So as we were getting ready for our baptism there was a 7.2 Earthquake! it was so wierd because Elder Ragle and I were walking and we felt nothing! The Temblor was the up and down type that's super destructive but then after a few seconds it turned into a swaying motion type! so we didn't feel it but the power lines were moving like crazy! so it was super intense but I am safe and Elder Ragle is safe and we still held our baptism!

Kia Kaha= Forever Strong! Becaue we had to be in the house on Friday night one of the elders got permission and we watched Forever strong. I don't know why but this time now more than ever different things from that movie stood out to me! I want to relate something from that movie the first is that Coach Larry Gilwix Told his team "I want you to be forever strong on the field so that you will always be forever strong off of it. Kia Kaha Forever Strong! and I made that connection to us here in the mission field. Our Father in Heaven is the coach and he is telling us " I want you to be forever strong in the field so that you will be forever strong out of it" and I really liked that and as I made that connection my perspective of the mission field grew! The other line I loved from that movie is " I will never do anything that embarrasses myself, my team (my mission and its missionaries), or my family" that line I love because it shows my commitment and love for the mission and the rules that we have with it!

I love you all and hope that you all have a good week and that the Lord will always be with you! I love you all El Vive and KIA KAHA

con mucho amor por todos,

Changes!!

April 14, 2014

QUE PASO??

Well I  will tell you what happened -  6 weeks have come and gone so fast that I had time to only blink once! So what does this mean? It means changes and this time my companion Elder Luis is leaving and I have earned the privilege to become senior companion! I will be receiving Elder Ragle and American Elder from California! He was in my district in Tlaltenco! He has about three months less than me so I am a little nervous!  This is because somos aprendiendo Española! But I have faith in the Lord that this will be a good cycle!

To start this cycle off we are baptizing this week! We are baptizing Hna. Sheila the investigator that had a date for the day before conference is getting baptized and we will have another baptism next week too! we have plans to baptize every week except one this cycle!

This last week was good! but after playing a lot of soccer last Monday by the end of the day my legs felt like Jell-O! Tuesday and Wednesday my legs hurt like crazy! It was a slow week because the schools are out for a few weeks and with Easter this week there is something called santa semana were the Catholics do different things for the last week of Christ's life. In our letter today President Crickmore told us to be careful and until something happens to a missionary we will be working so I am hoping that nothing happens to any of our missionaries!

Besides the slow week and futból it was good I loved this cycle! My companion Elder Luis and I will be returning home on the same day! So it was like I was working with someone from my generation! I am actually excited to see how this week goes and how the Mexican people celebrate Easter! I would like to bear my testimony that Christ does live today! He did "bleed grand drops of blood that fell to the earth" (Luke 22:43) from every pore for us and he did die for us and on that third and glorious day he didn't break the bands of death he destroyed them! It is because of him that we can live with him and like him glorified and perfected! let us all remember him and what his did for us in this week and let us all "come unto Christ" (youth theme 2014) of these thing I know are true I share my witness in his holy name even Jesus Christ. Amen.

I love you all and hope that this next week goes well for all! Love you all and HAPPY EASTER!
Con mucho amor Elder Darcy

Conferencia!!‏

April 7, 2014

QUE PACHO GUETOS??!!
This week is going to be short again because we are a little behind. we are behind because we had a soccer tournament in Chalco and didn't get back till 6:30 in the afternoon! but we did OK we came in 5th out of 6............ but it was fun and I got to play all of our last game!

Conference! I loved conference I thought that it was too fast but I loved it! Some of my favorite talks were Elder Holland's, Elder Oaks President Uchdorf (from priesthood) and President Monson (from Sunday in the morning!) I have to agree with dad on they were super direct!

From Elder Holland's talk one thing that I liked was "the restoration of the Gospel and the priesthood is more real than me talking to you today" I was just sitting there with my mouth wide open like W-O-W WOW that's insane!

From Elder Oaks........ I just loved his whole talk his was very direct and made it clear that women cannot posses the priesthood!

President Uchdorf: I loved his story about him and President Monson on Air Force One...."Dieter....Don´t even think about it ;)

President Monson´s talk I loved he was clear on how we need to love God and we need to love our neighbors! he talk was awesome!

I loved conference! and yes it was in English! We only have 5 Americans in the zone so they just stuck us in the high counsel room in the stake! We went tot the stake for all five sessions! it was so much fun and so cool! I am so grateful that I have this chance to be here! I am so glad to have you guys here to support me!

This next week is the last week of the cycle and then there is changes next week! It is going by so fast something else crazy.........TODAY I HIT 8 MONTHS IN MY MISSION!!! its bien loco mis amigos! so ya i am freaking out about how fast it is but I am loving every moment of it!

I love you guys and hope you all have a super awesome week!

Love,

Another Slow Week

March 31, 2014

HOLA MI FAMILA Y AMIGOS!

Not a lot happened this week.... it was super slow but there is something exciting this next week quien sabe que esa es?  If you guessed American baseball that's incorrecto and now its all about Futból ;) But no, this next weekend we have the great chance of listening to our Profeta Thomas S. Monson and his counselors and the 12! I have to say that here in the mission I have learned to love conference!! so I am super excited for this next weekend! The best part is that Utah and us (here in Mexico) are in the same time zone right now!! so Saturday conference is at 10, 2, and  6 so it will be like I am just back at home! but then Saturday in la noche we move the clocks ahead 1 hora XP so I will lose my hour of sleep....

So I do have some news.... our baptism for this next week fell through because we have the general conference this week. Next week we have stake conference here..... so its been pushed back a little bit..... but all is good our investigators name is Sheila and she is still super strong and she understood completely fine why we had to change it! so I just I hope I am here during that time because the same week of Sheila's new date is the same week as changes and given my history the last couple of cycles who knows what will happen!

I love you all so much and hope the best for you all this conference weekend! sorry this week is short y I hope to have a lot to tell next week!

Con mucho amor!

Super Super Slow Week!

March 24, 2014

So this week was super slow! We didn't teach that much at all this week like 1-3 lessons each day and that is super bad! but here are two things that happened this week that I want to share!
On Tuesday we had this multi zone conference with Elder Miron From the area Presidency and that was super good he talked about fixing our vision and the assistants talked about a plan they made to help us baptize every week of our mission! it was so cool!
Then speaking of Baptisms!!

We had a baptism interview this last weekend and we are baptizing but it has been changed to the 4th because that is when our in investigator wants it. but this story is very crazy! Our investigators name is Sheila and she and her boyfriend that she had been living with were supposed to come play futból last Monday. But that didn't happen so we were like umm OK. So on Wednesday we went over to see if everything was OK. She said that things are better! and we were like OK how? She said she prayed to know what to do and she got her answer. she told us that she has a strong desire to be baptized so she prayed to know if she need to split from her boyfriend and she said she got a positive good feeling! So she told us that they didn´t come Monday because that is when they split and  he was moving out. So we just sat there for like 10-15 seconds and I think my companion Elder Luis was like did that just happen. I was like what just happened. We had her interviewed and she had to have a special interview with president and she passed and wants the 4th (the day before conference!)
So those are the highlights of my week! hope all is well this week! This update was not long it was just a super slow week!
Love you all!

MY LOCO SEMANA !!

March 17, 2014

That is what I get a lot here is gueto and all sorts of stuff but its OK because I am doing the Lords work! We were super busy this week and did a lot! here is look at my week!

Monday: we had a zone meeting and that was good then we played a little soccer for our tournament  after conference! Then we did the normal P-Day stuff and taught a few lessons that night!

Tuesday: we taught a good amount of lessons but we didn't contact all that great all day so at 630 we went back to the house grabbed some things and from 7-9 we contacted 17 different people! it was so much fun I had a blast!

Thursday I went to Plonko and got my green card. I AM LEGAL!! It took almost 6 months I was getting nervous. The best part is that it expires on my birthday! but can't go that day because its my birthday ;) and its Mexico's Independence day!

Friday: In the morning on Friday we found A TON of old investigator files and we prayerfully chose one and from that we ended up get 4 people to accept baptism! so here is a tip PRAYER WORKS!

Saturday was slow because we did our weekly planning and because of that we didn't teach that much and on the bright side there was some catholic thing called Carnival happening this weekend so there were more borachos than usual!

Sun (yesterday) Church was good the talks were about service and stuff it was cool! then it is super hot and I got a little heat sick but was fine. Other than that we went to the zone report because my companion is our district leader! so it was a fun week!

So much craziness! In the last few weeks we had changes again and again I was part of them! I am still in stake Meyeuhalco but now in ward Buenavista not Tlaltenco. And my companion's name is Elder Luis! For anyone who saw the first in between program of confrence in October after the Saturday morning session there was a world report. It talked about the new Mexico MTC and how it used to be the church school here. They talked about a kid who went there for his three years of high school then after he graduated the school became the MTC and that kid was in the MTC to come to Mìssion Chalco..... that kid is now my companion and people are always talking about it. He hates it but thinks its kind of cool at the same time!

So thats my life right now! How is everyone else doing? I Hope all is well!

Love

Teotihuacan!! (Tea-o-tea-wha-con)

February 24, 2014

MI FAMILIA Y AMIGOS COMO LES VA??

As the topic says today I had the chance to go to Teotihuacan (pronounced Tea-o-tea-wha-con). It was the coolest experience ever! We are allowed to go once before the end of our mission. This time I was invited to go so I will still have on more chance to go before the end of my mission. Tt was so cool! but before we get today lets talk about the week first! we just worked a lot  f and WE BAPTIZED AGAIN!! So here is the story with that:
Last month when Elder Lopéz and I arrived her in Tlaltenco we had a lesson with a recent convert  and in that lesson we find out that this ladies daughter had been to church every week  minus one Sunday and was ready to be baptized. So we invited her to be baptized and then we talked with our Zone Leaders and they said that she needs to attend church 3 more weeks and we can baptize her! The next lesson we invited her to be baptized with a date and she accepted! she came to church every Sunday after.  The week of her interview we were preparing for her interview and baptism. A few days from her interview she and her boyfriend broke up. She was crushed, this came out of no where and without explanation. He sent a text and said they were through and all that. So we were slightly worried,  but the night of her interview she showed up and she had her interview. Then this week she got baptized! It was so cool to see her change!
Other than that the week was going good, and then last night we got a call saying that today we were invited to go to Teotihuacan! And that it would not count for my permission and so we went! It was the coolest thing ever! We had a guided tour with the Book of Mormon!! It was so cool to see all the ruins and climb the different pyramids! I think the weirdest part about it is that there were a lot of Americans there (tourists) and they started to talk to me in clear English and I will say it was a little hard to talk to them after talking Spanish the last 5 months! But it was cool! at first and the Elder from my group, Elder Huefner and I, were like there are white people and they speak crisp English......THEY ARE AMERICANS!! it was supper different!

It was truly amazing today and I did my "window shopping" today to know what I want when I go again! the only thing that I bought was a Mayan calendar for 20 pesos! that is like $1.50 there in the U.S

I hope all is well I love you guys and am looking forward to emailing next week because we have changes again and it sounded like the president was convinced that I am training this next cycle. So I will know if I am training or not tonight! that is because if I am then I go to Chalco tomorrow for a new trainers meeting! that is why we know a week before changes! And we are also getting a new zone/splitting a zone! so I will have all that next week!

Love you all y yo espero todos tienen un buen semana!

Conversion!

February 17, 2014

So this week was a really good week! We worked hard and we did a lot. There are so many things that happened and not to mention I think that I have had a big part of my own conversion out here!! But here is a quick highlights of this last week.

The firs of the week were normal working days for us. We worked a lot and we found some people to teach and we taught a lot of lessons. They were good days and we taught a lot.

On Wednesday we had divisions and I was with the other American Elder in my ward Elder Ragle, who is from California. He has been here about 3 months less than me. I was super nervous because we were in my area and we are both learning Spanish. The day went good, we had about 4-5 lessons (thats bad) but they were legit lessons. I had the fear of oh we only know a little bit of Spanish so not much will happen. But the lessons were good and they lasted at least 30 min each instead of our normal five. LOL. But it was a good day!
Friday is the day that I am sure I experienced a big part of my conversion! We  did not have many lessons scheduled and in the late afternoon when we got to a members house and we decided to read out of the first chaper of Moses. We did that and talked about how we are all children of God. Some of the comments the member we were teaching said just touched me and I felt a jolt of  energy! I realized (after the lesson) the importance of this work and gained a huge love for all the members here and most important the non-members I can do my best to help while I am here! that was truly and amazing day and experience for me!
Saturday we found out we are baptizing again! We had an interview for an investigator and ound that had gone to church every week but the fifth so our Zone Leaders said she only needs three more weeks of attendance and then we can baptize her. The rule is that we have to have an interview a week before the baptism so we had it on Saturday. Everything went well and our investigator needs to have an interview with Presidente Crickmore and then we can look at setting a baptism date.
Sunday at church the Bishop's son gave his farewell talk. We tried to visit a couple of people before we had to go to the stake for Elder Lopez to report our districts numbers but nothing much really happened.

So that was my week. All is well and I am super excited for this upcoming Saturday because the president can help our investigator get ready for baptism.

Love you all hope you all have a good week

Quorum of the 12!

So mis amigos y famila I think the subject of this message says it all! This week we got to go to the Temple in Mexico City and have a meeting at the old MTC there! We were told earlier in the week that we would be having a conference with Elder Quentin L. Cook and I was thinking that that was going to be pretty cool! So we get there and were waiting and when we go in and sit down and continue waiting. After 10 min the Apostle walks into the room and it was not Elder Cook.... It was Elder Dallin H. Oaks!!! we had a conference with Elder Oaks!! He walked in and we got to give him a saludos or a hand shake it was one of the coolest things ever!! He is super funny and LEGIT!! Part of our Area Presidency was there also -  Elder Miron and  Elder Valenzuela (first quorum of the 70) it was so cool! I received so much inspiration and revelation from Elder Oaks! Here is a little of what I learned!

First he talked about street contacting! He recounted a time when he was doing a conference just like that one just outside of the U.S. and there were eight missionaries who were with him, four from the two different missions. He said when they got to the airport four from one mission surrounded him and was talking with him and his wife. Then he said that he realized that the other four from the other mission were gone and he was looking around the lobby and he saw the other four talking with people and contacting them! He then went on to tell us of the importrance of contacting and talking with people! He then proceded to tell us how we are blessed to be here in Mexico because over in Europe, where there is not a lot of solid Christian places, it's hard for them to teach and contact. He then went on to tell a joke and this is the joke: every time a missionary knocks on a door in Denmark somone is baptised in Mexico! He then told us to talk with lots of people, he wants this joke to be true! So that was great!

He then went on to talk about the importance of Sacrament Meeting. He said we are working in a very Catholic country and most of these converts were Catholics and they are not used to going to church every week. He told us to talk about the importance of the sacrament and how it is a weekly thing! He then went on to talk about the General Authorities and how they are so important in stake conferences, but don't have the opportunity to take the sacrament regularly. He told us when President Monson became the President of the Church he set aside the first Thursday of every month to be a fast day for the first presidency the Quorum of the 12 and the First 2 Quorums of the 70! He said those are some of the most spritual experience he has had! He said its so important that we take it once a week and to be taking it and renewing thier covenants with the Lord!

This is a picture of the missionaries in Brett's mission at the conference he talked about this week.
It was so cool to hear from him and I about peed my pants when he walked in, he is funny and very smart in a lot of things! Elder Oaks gave me the insperation and revelation that I need to be a better missionary!  And yes his talk was in English and was translated into Spanish!

I love you all and hope all is well have a good week all!

White Washed

January 27, 2014

QUE HONDA?! so this was my first week of my new area of Tlaltenco en la estaca Meyehualco! My companion Elder Lopez and I were two new elders here in the area and we set right to work! The Elders who were here left maps and a ward list so it was easy to set to work! These people here are truly amazing because every house that we walk into has told us this house is your house! And they all feed us really well!

So this week we had a baptism that we did not know about until Tuesday when we got here and so Saturday I went to take the picture with the young man we were baptizing and my camera died -_- so I will get the picture to you this week!

So this was the week of opening the area:

Tuesday: we got here and started working. We had lunch with my the bishop and he is super awesome! Then we started figuring out the area and going to the places where there were appointments and started introducing ourselves!

Wednesday: When we woke up it was super cold and I thought that I was in Utah again because of how cold it was! Other than that we worked and we worked hard!

Thursday& Friday we just worked finding more families and members!

Saturday we found a family to teach by asking directions and we baptized a yonng man who had been ready for baptism by the Elders in the area before us. And that was our day!

Sunday: the first Sunday in the ward and the stake president is in the ward. This Ward is going to Vera Cruz to do temple work! We are going to ask if we can go, it's a long shot but there is a possibility we can go to the Vera Cruz Temple!

Hope all
is well love you all and DOUBT YOUR DOUBTS FIRST!

LES AMO

Transfers again!!

January 20, 2014

This is correct I again have transfers! my time here in Ixtapaluca was short (one cycle) but I am grateful for the chance that I had her to work and help bring others to Christ!

Information on the new area it is the Barrio Tlaltenco in the stake of Meyehualco! plus here is the BEST part!!!! I am opening an area and my new companion is one of my Zone Leaders from here in Ixtapaluca! He is going to be district leader and I am the junior so I am excied to work and learn from him! other than that need to make it short this week because I was busy packing and Elder Hernandez wanted to go buy food for him and his new companion this week and we only hade 30min to write and 15 of that was reading messages from the president and responding.

This last week was good we found a lot of people for Elder Hernandez to work with and our converts are doing good! Next Sunday the young man I helped baptize is getting the Priesthood! So all is well with them! other than that a busy work week and all sorts of fun!!
I want all to remember that He lives and that He is always here for us! love you all! the language is doing better little by little everyday! I hope all is well!

P.S my new companion is Elder Lopez from Puebla Mexico that is 1hr y 1/2 from here ha ha! but he love doing this work!

Back to Work!

January 13, 2014

HOLA! so this week was defiantly a better week! now that the holidays are over we were able to get back to work and it was a good week! some of the experiences that I have to share are: last Monday, a tough day Friday and an amazing Noche de hogar (Family home evening) yesterday night! but first here is my week and what happened:

Monday (last week) we had a zone meeting and had a super cool lesson about the atonement of the Savior! the lesson was about sacrifice, and two of the Hermanas were teaching the lesson. they had two small loafs of bread and said for every person who took a piece of bread one of the Elders, Elder Dixon,  had to do 15 military pushups so we began and people started taking bread. In our zone there is about an even number of Elders and Sisters there is about 16 elders and 16 Hermanas. and I was the last Elder to be offered bread before the Hermana's and by this point Elder Dixon was hurting a lot and it was really hard for him to do the push up´s at this point! so I said no thanks to the bread but it was forced on me... at the end of this the Hermana's said that no matter if we wanted Him to or not Jesus Christ paid and suffered for our sins and we need to remember what He did for us!

Tue: We set to work for the week and it was a good day we had 8 different lessons but at the same time right now we cannot find any of our investigators so it is a little frustrating but it's life and we´ll get them this week!

Wed: This day was more lessons. There is one Hermana in the ward that has been listening to the testigos (Jehovah Witness) and she was trying to convince us that Jehovah is our Heavenly Father..... but after 45 minutes of taking with her she finally realized the Jehovah is another name for Christ!

Thursday: Today was weekly planning and it was a slow day because after planning was over we had to head off for lunch so it was a slower day but we had lessons!

Friday: Today was a super tough day we only had 3 lessons all day because people were not home or people didn´t want to answer their doors..... so it was another great learning day and a good exercise day too! after we got home that night and after planning for Saturday I fell on my bed and my legs felt so week I slept good that night!

Sat: We had more lessons! we made the base of 35 lessons for the week for the first time this cycle it made me so happy! There were a lot of lessons and we received a good number of references from the members too!

Sunday: Now the mornings on Sundays are a little tougher because church is at 8 AM so we have to get ready pretty quick and we have to try to be awake! It´s nice because after we report and then eat then have 5-6 hours to work! Yesterday we had a Noche de Hogar and one of our mas o menos investigators were there and we watched a film called finding faith in Christ and it was so cool because we could feel the spirit. Our investigator felt the spirit so much too! We have another appointment with her on Thursday!

That about sums up my week. Heading into this week, this is yet again the last week of another cycle. I know I am not training this next cycle but we still have the changes call coming Sunday and changes are next Tuesday! and given my companions history he is not in an area for long so we will have to see what happens!

Other wise all is well I want you all to know that I love you and because of that activity on Monday my view of the atonement has changed so much!

Love you all and have a good week!

Elder Darcy!

Happy New Year!!!

January 6, 2014

I am kind of happy that the New Year week is over! I don't mean to sound bitter about the holidays because that is not it, but because the work was sure down! I want to work more to help the people in any way I can but that is hard because we had a day of cut work and the following day no work! but over all this week was a good week just a brief look at this last week and some of the cooler experiences after!

Monday, (last week), I got a flu shot! also a Christmas package from my dad and Grandma with some pretty cool ties! Then we went shopping in the Chalco center Tiangies!

Tue: we taught and for the half work day we went with a family and played Uno for 2 hours. The two hours was all one round because all of the cards fell differently!

wed: we didn't work but we were at the Ixtapaluca Stake as a zone almost all day. It was a fun day. We played capture the flag, dodge ball and American football!! it was so much fun then we ordered pizza from dominos and watched the best two years! it was a good day!

Thursday we started work again and taught some more!

Friday: we had divisions and I went to the other ward with our District Leader Elder Alberqueque I learned a lot and I ate a lot too! we had 5 hotdog each for lunch then the next lesson we finished up and then they fed us then had jell-o at another house then we had a Noche de Hogar (Family home evening) and there was food there too!

Sat: we finished our divisions and we had........2 BAPTISMS. We baptized 2 youth whose grandma got baptized last month (year;)) and now their mom is interested in listening so might be able to baptize her in the next five weeks too!

Sun: we got to confirm the youth we baptized. I did one of the baptisms and it was really cool! I take the meaning "let the holy spirit guide" to a whole new meaning!

So one of the coolest experiences that I had this week was today! We had a zone meeting and it was about sacrifice. it was one of the coolest most life changing events that I had while I have been out here so far! the two Hermana's who taught us had one of the Elders get up in front of the zone and she said Elder for every piece of bread that someone takes you have to do 15 pushups! And Elders started to take the bread and I was in the middle the last elder to take bread before the Hermana's and by time the bread got to me the Elder was struggling so much. I told the Hermana that I didn´t want the bread but she forced it on me by setting it in my lap and she said to the other elder 15 pushups and by the end the 25-30 of us took the bread the elder collapsed half of us were in tears from watching him suffer then one of the Hermana's teaching said" the pain that Elder Dixon is feeling.. this is the pain that the Lord felt times 50. The Lord sacrificed so much for us. We need to help him in all that we can with this work and we need to remember the pains that he suffered for us and remember the love he gave." It was a different way of seeing the explanation of the atonement. You all have no  idea how much my love grew for the Savior today and how much more I appreciate what He did for me and what He did for you! Remember what He did and never forget it!

I love you all and wish you all a good start to this new year keep Him with you because EL VIVE. I can testify to this that He lives and that He suffered the most unbearable pains in the world for all of us and that more than anything He wants us back with Him for eternity! I can testify to this in His name even Jesus Christ. Amen.

I love you all so much I hope all is well,

Elder Darcy

Feliz Navidad

December 23, 2013

FELIZ NAVIDAD TODO!!

Unlike Utah,  the weather here is not cold and white! It is nice, warm, and sunny! Because of this next week being Christmas there were not a lot of people home:( but its all good because I had one of the collest things happened on Friday!!!!! We went to the Mexico City Temple! the other highlight is that we are still on track for two baptisms on the 4th of January! I do have to say the Temple was pretty cool!
Mexico City Temple: we really didn't have the chance to do a session but we were there at the visitors center (with our district) and with conversos y menos activos (less active members)! and it was the coolest thing ever! The Visitors Center just opened again from renovations and it was really spiritual and interactive! The best part was all the Christmas lights around the Temple and the different people there investigating! The Temple closes at the start of January and does not open again until June of 2015 so if have investigators at that point the best I can hope for is taking them to the open house! But the visitors center is open the whole time!

This week we also had 2 investigators who we have been working with set dates for baptisms. They are set to be baptised in the start of January! Their grandma fue bautizado in the start of this month and so if they get baptised (go to church this sunday) we are hoping to take them to the Temple that day to see the visitors center and all that fun stuff!
Well i hope everyone is safe in all that they do and I hope that everyone has a good Christmas! I am MUY MUY EMOCIONADO A HABLAR CON MI FAMILIA!!! It really is crazy that the call from the airport  september 16th to this call has just flown. As we all go into this season remember to "let Him in" and that "three kings found the Lord and so can we" also the story of his great and amazing birth is Luke 2:1-12 it is the best story in the scriptures because it is the one of our great Lords birth!

Love you all and FELIZ NAVIDAD!

Izcalli 1

December 16, 2013

So ahora yo so en Izcalli 1 is es un muy bonita area! haha there is my Spanish for the week! I am now in Ixtapaluca in the ward of Izcalli! My new comapion's name is William Hernandez! Here is the best part he can't speak English, which means my Spanish has to get used more and likely improve. The area is really nice and there are families that are pretty well to do compared to my last area. I will send pictures out of the house on Wednesday at our MISSION CHRISTMAS PARTY! Let me just say it is not a small room this time, but it is an appartment on the second floor!
So the week was a good week! New area new missionaries! All that jazz, first off our district has 8 companionships and one of the companionships (in our ward) is hermanas and one of them are new and  she is from...wait for it...wait for it... WEST JORDAN, UTAH! The Sisters are so cool! They work hard and are super dedicated. The down side is that in our ward there is a hill overlooking the area. and I was hoping that we would get the hill, but  the sisters get the view of Ixtapaluca, Valle de Chalco, and Chalco... its all good though! So i am coming into the area with a lot of work to do! We have almost 20 different investigators who ae not progressing and are at different points. So I am excited to hep them with that!
This week I got to meet a number of them and we already have two baptism dates for the end of December! They are two kids whose grandma was a Jehovah's Witness! I am excited for that!

Other than that we have a chance to go to the temple with this family on Saturday to see the Visitors Center. I am super excited for that cause our mission now has permission to go to the Visitors Center with investigators.  We won't be able to do a session in the Temple because it closes in January until June of 2015 for renovations :( but the visitors center will always be open! So we have that opprotunity!

The only other thing is yo so MUCHO MUCHO MUCH emochinado porque yo tengo un oprotunidad a hablar con mi familia! haha more Spanish and it's only been a week! I get to talk to my familia next week! and on Christmas we are not work same with New Year's Eve and New Years Day as well as on Christmas Eve. On New Year's Eve we only work till 6 then are with families the rest of the night until 10:30!

I miss you all and love you all hope everyone has a great Navidad! EL Vive!
